Interlockings / Event Monitoring
CDSRail have extensive experience in supplying monitoring systems for relay based Interlockings. The system connects to spare volt-free contacts on each relay and produces a log of time stamped 'events' showing the status of various controls & indications which can then be analysed by engineers to ascertain if the signalling system was operating correctly. For SSI systems, similar functionality is achieved using isolated hardware which connects safely to the interlocking and converts activity on the data link into discrete events.
To assist in the analysis of recorded data and expedite investigation, CDSRail event monitoring software includes an event browser and graphical replay options to enable events stored by the data logger to be converted into a visual representation of signaling activity similar to that displayed on a Signaller control panel. These diagnostic tools can save valuable investigation time following an incident or allegation involving the signalling system.
Intelligent software modules also allow users to set alarm events, which would be generated by specific signaling behavior (e.g. loss of point detection or track circuit flicker). With the addition of these functions, CDSRail offer solutions which go beyond a simple 'find & fix' approach to a 'predict & prevent' diagnostic tool to identify signaling anomalies before a fault is reported.
